I sat at my desk, scrolling through the pictures of me and Thomas. We had spent the whole day at the pier, riding rides and eating junk food. I looked at one picture in particular. Thomas had taken it and he had his arm around me, and he was making the goofiest face I had ever seen. I laughed quietly and looked at his beautiful eyes. I jumped when I heard a small cough at the door. I slammed the lid of my laptop and looked to see Jayk standing in the doorway of my room, leaning on the frame. He smiled at me weakly.
"Why don't you just talk to him Drew?" he asked me, walking over to my bed and plopping down. I shook my head.
"I can't Jayk. I can't deal with him rejecting me and not being my friend anymore. I would rather be friends, than nothing." I put my head down on my desk, letting out a heavy sigh. Jayk was the only person that knew my secret. I had gotten extremely drunk one night when Thomas had broughten home two girls instead of his usual one. I told him everything. Ever since then, he has helped me cope with it. Other than Thomas, Jayk is my best friend.
Silent tears dripped down my face and I let out another sigh. "Great," I said, getting up and plopping face-down on my bed. Jayk gently rubbed my back as I silently sobbed into my pillow, so sick of lying and being alone. The last thing that I remember was Jayk throing a blanket over my and pulling off my shoes.
I sat up with a start, as my phone beeped. I grabbed it and looke, seeing three missed calls and nine text messages. They were all from Thomas. My heart began to beat faster as I read the texts. They all pretty much said the same thing. He wanted me to meet him at Panera so that he could run some new song ideas by me. I sent him a response, telling him I had passed out and that I would meet him in fifteen minutes. I got out of my bed and streched out my sore limbs and went into my bathroom, washing my face of the dry tears. I looked into the mirror and fixed my bed-head.
I walked back into my bedroom and grabbed my phone and a jacket and walked out to my car. As I drove I thought about Thomas, like I do twenty-four seven. When I got to Panera, I looked in the parking lot and saw Thomas' car parked. I smiled and parked, checking myself in my rear view mirror one last time. I finally got out of my car and walked up to the restaurant and I saw Thomas through the window talking to the waiter. I watched him for a minute, loving the way his eyebrow creased when he was thinking. The waiter nodded and walked away. Thomas turned and looked out the window, his eyes wandering until they landed on me. He smiled and waved and I waved back. I am going to tell him, I thought, as I walked in to the dimly lit restaurant.
When I sat down Thomas just looked at me and smiled. "What?" I asked him, a curious look on my face.
He looked away and smiled even wider. "I ordered for you. a breakfast sandwich and a large tea."
I smiled, not knowing he paid that much attention to what I did. "Thanks Thomas. You didn't have to do that" He just shrugged and started to talk about his new song. I looked into his eyes. His beautiful eyes. He stopped talking and looked at me.
"Are you ignoring me?" he asked with a slight laugh.
"Thomas, I have to tell you something. Something important." I took a deep breath. "I love you."
Thomas laughed, "I love you too broskie!" He stuck out his fist. I shook my head.
"No Thomas. I love you. More than a bro."
Thomas looked at me. His face confused. He opened his mouth.
"Drew....I..."
